Overview
More than a digital stamp card.
EdgeLoyalty is built around two connected applications. Customers use the consumer application to participate in the restaurant's loyalty program, collect digital stamps, receive rewards and vouchers, and maintain an ongoing relationship with the restaurant. Restaurant employees use the staff application to validate visits, manage stamps and redemptions, issue rewards, provide discounts, and manage loyalty interactions.
What differentiates EdgeLoyalty is its integration with Bluetooth beacon infrastructure deployed inside the restaurant. With the appropriate customer permissions and supported mobile capabilities, beacon interactions can provide contextual signals about customer visits and in-venue presence, including where participating customers are seated and how long they remain.
Instead of rewarding customers solely based on manually recorded transactions, EdgeLoyalty can incorporate permitted behavioral and visit data into the restaurant's engagement strategy, and give management insight into seating utilization, busy periods, visit patterns, and loyalty behavior.

Physical Venue Intelligence
A connection between customer retention and physical restaurant operations.
The challenge
Ten stamps tell you very little.
Traditional restaurant loyalty programs are often disconnected from the actual restaurant experience. A customer receives a paper card or digital stamp after a purchase. After enough visits, the customer receives a discount or free item.
While simple, this model provides limited information to the restaurant. The business may know that a customer collected ten stamps, but it may not understand much else.
What the restaurant may not understand
- How frequently the customer visits.
- How long customers typically remain.
- Which areas of the restaurant are most heavily used.
- When loyal customers tend to visit.
- Which periods experience the greatest occupancy.
- Whether certain rewards actually increase repeat visits.
- Which customers are becoming less active.
- How loyalty behavior relates to the physical use of the restaurant.
Problems with paper cards
- Cards are easily lost.
- Rewards are difficult to personalize.
- Redemption is difficult to track.
- Restaurants receive little usable customer data.
- Fraud or duplicate redemption can be difficult to manage.
- Customer engagement stops when the customer leaves the restaurant.
EdgeLoyalty digitizes the complete loyalty lifecycle while connecting it with the physical restaurant experience.
Two connected applications
One for the guest. One for the team.

Customer application
Guests join loyalty programs, collect digital stamps, receive rewards and vouchers, and keep an ongoing relationship with the restaurant.

Staff application
Employees validate visits, manage stamps and redemptions, issue rewards, apply discounts, and manage loyalty interactions while serving.

Loyalty that knows the room.
Beacons at known tables and zones give opted-in customers' visits physical context: where they sat, when they arrived, and how long they stayed. Aggregated, that becomes peak-hour, occupancy, and seating insight for the whole venue.

Connecting physical behavior to loyalty
From a number of stamps to a picture of the guest.
A traditional loyalty platform may know
“Customer X has 8 stamps.”
EdgeLoyalty can potentially provide
“Customer X is a frequent visitor, usually visits during lunch, has redeemed two rewards, and has recently increased visit frequency.”
Rewards remain based on clearly defined rules so customers understand how loyalty benefits are earned.
Customer journey
A continuous relationship, not anonymous visits.
Join
The customer installs the application and joins the restaurant's loyalty program.
Visit
The customer visits the restaurant.
In-venue context
Where enabled and permitted, the application detects relevant restaurant beacon signals.
Loyalty activity
The customer receives eligible loyalty progress or stamps according to the restaurant's configured rules.
Staff validation
Restaurant staff can validate applicable loyalty actions through the staff application.
Reward
After reaching the appropriate threshold, the customer becomes eligible for a reward, discount, or voucher.
Redemption
The staff member validates and records the redemption.
Continued relationship
Future visits contribute to the customer's loyalty history and restaurant analytics.

Two connected applications
A customer app that replaces the paper card, and a staff app with the operational tools, kept apart so customers never see administrative functions.
Customer application
The EdgeLoyalty customer application provides restaurant guests with a digital identity within the loyalty ecosystem. It turns the traditional stamp card into a persistent digital customer relationship.
Instead of

The restaurant gains a richer lifecycle
- Visit
- Digital Interaction

- Maintain their loyalty relationship across visits.
Staff application

This separates the customer experience from the operational experience required by restaurant staff. Employees receive the tools necessary to manage loyalty without exposing administrative functionality to customers.
Depending on permissions, employees can
- Identify participating customers.
- Validate loyalty activity.
- Add or confirm stamps.
- Redeem completed stamp cards.

Edgerunners' contribution
Digital loyalty, connected to the physical venue.
Edgerunners designed and developed EdgeLoyalty as more than a digital stamp-card application.
The defining innovation is the connection between digital loyalty and the physical restaurant environment. A customer's relationship with the restaurant is no longer represented only by purchases or stamps. With appropriate permissions, the platform can also understand relevant visit patterns and use aggregated behavioral information to help restaurants improve both customer engagement and operational planning.

The outcome
EdgeLoyalty transforms restaurant loyalty from a digital stamp card into an intelligent customer engagement and venue analytics platform.
Customers receive a convenient way to earn rewards, collect stamps, redeem vouchers, and maintain an ongoing relationship with the restaurant. Staff receive a dedicated operational application. Managers gain visibility into loyalty participation, repeat visits, reward effectiveness, busy periods, seating utilization, and customer engagement. And beacon infrastructure creates a bridge between the digital customer profile and the physical restaurant experience.
A platform that helps answer not only “How many stamps does this customer have?” but also:
- How often do customers return?
- When do they visit?
- How is our restaurant being used?
- Which loyalty strategies are bringing customers back?
- How can we improve both retention and restaurant operations?
Privacy built into the architecture.
Because EdgeLoyalty can process customer profiles and in-venue proximity information, privacy must be built into the product architecture.
These controls allow EdgeLoyalty to combine digital loyalty with physical venue intelligence while maintaining transparency and appropriate customer control over their information.
Beacon functionality should operate according to the permissions and technical restrictions provided by the customer's mobile operating system. Customers should receive clear information about the relevant data collection and provide appropriate permissions before identifiable visit or proximity information is used.
Beacon observations should not be represented as perfectly precise indoor positioning. Bluetooth signal strength can be affected by walls, people, device orientation, hardware differences, and the physical restaurant environment.
Restaurants should use beacon information as a contextual signal, supported by appropriate validation where business-critical decisions depend on it.
Retention periods should be defined for identifiable visit information, and access to individual customer history should be limited according to role and business need.
For management analytics, aggregated or appropriately de-identified information should be preferred where individual identification is unnecessary.
Loyalty rewards, personalized offers, and marketing communications should respect customer preferences and applicable consent requirements.
